In 1995, the town's two hospitals amalgamated to form the current West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). Four years later, Hospital Services in Parry Sound celebrated its centennial year.

The amalgamated health centre continues the long tradition of providing quality care and leadership established by both the Parry Sound District General Hospital and the Parry Sound Area Health Centre, Chronic Care Facility (formerly St. Joseph's Hospital, Parry Sound).

Today the WPSHC provides a wide range of hospital and community services:

1.240,000 square foot Central Hospital (opened in 2005)

2.Specialist Clinics

3.Nursing Stations (Britt, Pointe Au Baril, Rosseau, Whitestone, Argyle, Moosedeer)

4.Ambulance Services with Dispatch

5.Gamma DynaCare for outpatient laboratory work
