The University of Lethbridge


The University of Lethbridge offers distinct nursing programs:

After Degree Bachelor of Nursing
The program is designed to offer an accelerated course of studies to a Bachelor of Nursing for students who have previously earned an approved degree in any discipline or field of study.

Nursing Education in Southwestern Alberta (NESA)
The NESA program is a collaboration between Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge.The program prepares professional baccalaureate nursing graduates as generalist entry-level practitioners who are committed to self-directed lifelong learning in nursing practice.

Post-Diploma Bachelor of Nursing
Students who hold licensure as Registered Nurses may complete the Bachelor of Nursing program in 12 consecutive months. The Faculty of Health Sciences aims to make the Post-Diploma Bachelor of Nursing program accessible to full-time and part-time students.

Support Program for Aboriginal Nursing Students (SPANS)
SPANS provides support in years one through four of the NESA program and also includes students who are completing the one-year pre-nursing First Nations Transition Program (FNTP) that can provide Aboriginal students with the appropriate admission requirements for the NESA program.
